Stopped by to ask how much they would charge for a specific procedure (change water pump). They flat out refused to even give me a ball park number on what that procedure would run "because there may be additional things wrong". I said that I understood that it may be worse - but what are we looking at for a normal water pump change on my specific vehicle... they flat out refused to give me any kind of idea unless I first PAID for them to diagnose my issue - and then it would be the same "this is the price unless we find more" situation.." So why play the games in the first place? All you've shown me is that you can't even talk to a customer about "book price" for a procedure unless you are paid first to look at the car. A SIMPLE "this is what the book time for a water pump runs - 5 hours plus parts - unless there is more involved" was apparently too hard to convey to the customer - or maybe you just didn't care unless you get paid to look at the book. This whole experience was exlemplarary of the "classic cliche car repair experience" - we will only talk to you after we get your car taken apart and you're on the hook to fix "whatever we find". Either way... Guess where I will never go again? Guess who I would never reccomend?
Sorry we did not meet your expectations. Integrity between us and our customers and fixing vehicles right the first time is priority # 1 here at Concourse. Which is why we don't like to give quotes over the phone and possibly not be able to live up to that estimate. Thank you for the phone call & opportunity.
